As others have said - go do something else for a while.
I have WAY more fun at GW just playing 1-3 hours a day. It takes me *forever* to do somethings. During those hours I'm not trying to max anything - just play. I may farm a little, I may play a mission or two, do a few quests, or some other random thing (I have not finished factions with any character yet). I understand how it doesn't have much of a reward for lots of play styles. The first time I got Droks armor I was really happy, the next few characters were "eh". It wasn't until I scaled back and started playing the game instead of min/maxing that it was fun again. And I'm not really a hardcore player - it's got to be rougher if you are.
Right now my "other" is real life stuff (namely, archery - trying to get my first 300 NFAA indoor round or a 290+ vegas - dang mental game). Sometimes it is another game, sometimes other stuff.
That's the great thing about GW and why I like it so much. I do not feel ripped off if I play for hours upon end or just a little bit here and there. Give it some time off, play just at your leasure, and try and have fun - not play good (playing at a high level doesn't always mean fun, sometimes goofing off is better. Plenty of goofing off/fun/RP guilds out there).

With rewarding I don't mean items or faction (although winning a sigil is nice).
What's rewarding for me is the fun I have with my guild/friends while playing PvP, the thrill of winning a match when both our team and the opposing team plays really good, trying out new stuff, improving my gameplay and getting fame.
About fame I would like to say that that is rewarding for me personally. I would like to get to rank 9 by playing monk. We all know the stories about how some people get their rank. So please don't start a discussion about the meaning of rank.

You can literally spend hours in PvP. Its never really dull since you are playing against real people who will think dynamically.
Just start playing, the PvE side has a very short longetevity compaared to the PvP side.
GvGs, HA, TA... its all exciting.

Hmmm....bored? Well, let's see. You could take a college class, spend some time with parents/kids/friends, go work out, read a great book, watch a good movie, go for a walk, go for mountain bike ride, work in the yard, wash your car, visit an orphanage, vist a retirement home, volunteer at your local youth center or hospital, the list is endless. Need I go on?
Folks, there is a big old world out there. Live it.

I've been playing PvE for over a year now and find it as exciting as ever.
My recommendation, if you're not just into "rewards" and more into "personal satisfaction" is to attempt to solo parts of the game without henchmen and without a 55 HP character.
It develops a whole new appreciation for the game, the endless combinations of skillsets you can play with, and the monsters you face (and their powers/weaknesses).
I've soloed (except for a few later-in-the-game missions) the entire Prophecies game with my non-MM N/Me, so that shows that it can be done. Killing a boss solo and using it to cap one of your last skills is an awesome feeling, especially if you've tried it several times (and failed) and finally beat him after an hour-long duke it out fight.

I'm in the same boat as OP, GW is getting very boring. I think the main reason for alot of people being bored, is Faction. It didn't live up to the hype that Anet made it out to be. Everyone was expecting it being as fun and same amount of content as GWP. This is going to hurt Anet when chapter 3 comes out.
And for those that says take a break, this is the main killer. Being bored, then taking a break is like saying out of sight, out of mind. GW will be easily forgotten especially with alot of good game titles coming out soon. If Faction was good, then it would have been a different story. Faction was terrible and thats the last image people remember after taking a break. So don't expect people to come back too eagerly.

I was Aboyscout until you become to old to be it which is 18, finished with rank of Life scout. Ran out of time for eagle project. I drive around i hang out with friends i am currently taking pre law classes public speaking etc... i just look for games when im done and have time and since summer is here i mean im just meh, bored i expected something better with factoins i expected something that would well stay interesting.
Im also a little bummed about sapps and rubies.
Also about PvP I hate alliance battles. I think that the fact that we have to get 500 points and there is very little to no coordination when i play(Kurzick) i would prefer if it were eliminate all or something like that. I prefer the old alliance battles or have us make 12 player teams just no 3 4 players teams.

I don't think Factions was meant to be played constantly. There's just not enough to do to keep the player base busy for the full 6 months between chapter releases.
I have seen people suggest you could try PvP; but even some Pvpers I know are, in their words "sick" of Factions and GW. edit: like the post right above mine now says - I do not like the PvP game at all in GW, but many do.
So yea, a break might be good.

I got bored also, so I took a little break. I've been playing HL2: Episode 1 (which is great, btw). But, I've come back to Factions and finished it for a second time today though. The second time around, I skipped all but the primary quests. I hate the city so I couldn't wait to get out. The game went much faster and, for me, was more fun the second time around. Some of those city quests are just mind numbingly boring. Also, I spend a lot of time in Aspenwood playing. I actually like it a lot...even though I'm not a PvPer. That is as long as you don't have a leecher or an ass on your team.
EDITED to add: For those that don't know, Aspenwood is not PvP. It's random teams playing against each other with some NPC's thown in the mix.
